Hi all,
Well the opening night was lots of fun with lots of red wine!! I meet some really lovely people form Red Bubble including ' mikoto" whom I chatted with many times in cyberland.
Overall it was a great experience and I thank Adriana for all her hard work organizing it and Global gallery for having such a great space. A big thanks to all my supporters coming down and helping me celebrate!
On a another exciting note I have made the big decision the move to Melbourne in August which I am very excited about and I have a lot of things to organize so if I do not blog I apologize lol but
I will keep you posted x

I know it's been sooooooo long since I blogged but I have had a huge change in my personal life and it has taken it's toll and some time to process it all...
but I recently spent 2 weeks in Japan, it is such an amazing and inspiring place I LOVED it!!!!!!!!
Spent way to much- indulgence- 3 pairs of sneakers, 1 Blythe doll and stack of fabric!!!
Ate way to much- indulgence- all you can eat sushi train OMG
Highlight - Osaka baseball match- they are CRAZY and Nikko - a beautiful village in the mountains!

Would love to go back :)

Also I have a new outlet for my prints now sold by the super cool Justyna at her new shop in Waverly tots encore

Also wanted to mention the group show 'The Populous Cast' opening night is on next Wednesday night the 18th June @ Global Global Gallery 5 -Comber st. Paddington
hope to see some of you lovelies there :)

Inspiration, muses and the like.....
I went to see PJ Harvey on Friday at the Opera House, wow she was amazing and very inspiring. She has said in interviews she reads a lot and draws inspiration from classic literature. And I think many of us look for inspiration from within and often struggle, other creative people can be an fantastic inspiration whether listening to pieces of music, reading poetry or having a great conversion with other artists.

Be open Muses can can come along when we least expect it :)

Had a very inspiring last weekend, saw some great artwork and felt truly moved. Above is the first painting I did over the Christmas break which I am really happy with and hope will get to show at a gallery later this year in Surry hills. I am aiming for 2008 to be a year of going forward with my art and my life in general and hoping not to get down with all the grief which seems to go hand in hand with life lol.
I am still selling lots of toys over at M A D and the prints down at my Poppet in Melbourne are going well too.
Hope to keep inspired this year!

Hi all, yes got a lovely wacom board for chrissy from my boyfriend and its all very exciting but it is very different to drawing on paper!
I have uploaded my first 2 drawings, well the very first one looked really bad, so did the second so they are not really the first but more like the 3rd and 4th LOL
Anyway I just spent 3 weeks in the country away from the computer painting on canvas which was really great, and I hope to have them in a group show later this year I will keep you posted.

Happy birthday to me, yep 35 today and feeling 20 still lol well the art keeps me young I say. I had a big night last night and have another party tonight so I am resting/ recovering today with hot chips and DVDs ya. Got some awesome pressies including tickets to see Jack Johnson in centennial park which will be very cool.

Well I tried to take a "model" shot but as you can see I just look silly LOL anyway I bought 'birdlady' tshirt of mine and I actually really like it YAY.
Anyway work has been super busy with the lead up to Xmas and I have had no energy or time to do much else. I did go to a council event to celebrate artists in the Marrickville area which was a great night with great wine and food and cool performances.
Cintia is doing wonders down in Melbourne selling my prints which is fantastic and will certainly help with the credit card debt I racked up today buying chrissy pressies, I was crazy to think I could do it all in one day I did try but 5 bags later I struggled to the bus stop stressed and over it. But at least I have half of it done!
Also I just wanted to mention how many great people I have met through the artist online community Red bubble I never thought joining a place to sell artwork would uncover such a cool bunch of peeps:) and never thought I sell so many t shirts!!
Well hope you are all looking forward to Christmas cheer and food and wine hhhmmmmmm and a few well deserved days rest.

Woohoo my article came out today, in the Herald Sun home mag, check it out!
I just want to say a big thanks to Cintia from My poppet for all her support.
On other news, selling lots of T-shirts over at Red Bubble and was in Balmain fair the other weekend and sold lots of prints and magnets too. I have been very busy at work too November being the busiest time, so there's not much creative energy left on the weekends these days.... But I just dropped some toys off at M.A.D in Newtown for the xmas rush.

Hey all,
I have been super busy of late but I went to the affordable art show at fox studios last night with my pal and very talented Janet and it was great, so inspiring to walk amidst so much art!! I discovered an few new up and coming artist that are awesome, a printmaker named Jane Fontane had some amazing work and also photographer Paola Talbert who are both represented by United galleries
I felt so inspired :) that I did this today

latest gossip in my life well the company I work for sold so I have a new boss but my old boss is now the manager, so it's all bit weird at the moment I will stick around and see how it pans out. I am still selling tees over at RB which is really putting a smile on my dial, and giving a little extra cash to buy some art (of course). I bought some great cards of Redbuble and also a lovely handmade purse by innocentgirl from etsy whose work I am a big fan of. I have made some great contacts on RB too and been involved in fun collaboratives which have pushed me artistically too which is great.
I went to Surry Hills festival last Sunday and that was a lot fun. Also my boyfriend has discovered a site called blurb.com where you custom design photography books of you're own work and he is being obsessive and creating some from our travels this year, so far he has spent days doing them, it's a great site with free software check it out x

Ok so I sold 4 t-shirts on Sunday night, it really made my Monday :)
So I have been a bit bad too, I bought my self two prints the first one is from fellow etsy seller myfolklover a gorgeous print titled 'Remembering to think of things 4' very fitting for me because I am known for being a little vague.. anyway I have been lusting after it for a while. Also the coolest limited edition print of 'small boy rides rabbit bike' by Ghost patrol another very talented Melbourne artist who I had seen before but only stumbled across again on the weekend. I love, love,love it and told myself it's a very, very early Birthday present:)

I had a very long busy week at work and feeling exhausted also the anniversary of my Dads death was yesterday so I was feeling quite sad all day.

I sold 2 more prints on etsy which cheered me up :)

Postcards are now for sale on etsy, I am really happy with the quality of these zazzel cards.
Last weekend was spent in melbourne which was a bit a worldwind 48 hr kinda of trip. The shop My poppet looks amazing Cintia has done an excelllent job setting up and has the most devine kids clothes and accessories!! Made me very clucky. The prints done for the shop in A3 size framed looked fantastic I wish I had of taken some photos but silly me was not thinking straight. I also managed a quick shop at my fav. outlet shop on Brunswick street, Fitzroy and picked up more toy fabric for only $5 a mtre of striped velour!!! I stayed with my best friend and we have many vodkas and watched bad DVDs which was really great too. I also met her current love paul the artdealer which was interesting..... Had other magic momments too........ take care bye

Hi all, well it's happening I am going down to Melbourne to the opening of MY POPPET the new shop by Cinti where my prints are being sold through, and I am being interviewed by the one of the Newspapers Wooh Who!! A bit nervous really, being my first interview and all, but it should be fun and exposure is what it's all about :) clap, clap and as my best friend says "you're really shaken and a movin now baby! "
Also today I got my MOO cards sent from the U.K which for those who do not know are cute little cards through flickr they are very sweet and my first business cards. I also had a funny sale off etsy where I knew who the person was but they did not know me!! Such a small world, it was a friend of mines sister in-law who I had heard about but never met. How cool, I love coincidences.
I have posted lots of new work on etsy, I hope people like them. I am really happy with the new paintings I have done. Actually my boyfriend sent me an interesting article on Jason Benjamin a very successful, talented Australian painter and he was still full of self doubt about his talent, it really shocked me. Surely at some level of fame you think you're fantastic?? Maybe or maybe artistic people are always fuelled by that insecurity, it's probably his driving motivation, there's hope for me yet.

Ya! I have finally finished all the work for my show, wow it feels good!
I am hanging the show tomorrow after work. Today is Sunday and we have to clean our apartment as it's has recently slid into a major mess in the past 2 months!! My boyfriend's mother and best friend are arriving tomorrow from Perth and they are staying for 4 nights, so we need to try and clear some space so they will actually fit in here. If I get it all done by this afternoon the etsy Sydney street team are having coffee today a couple of suburbs away so I may make it, I am feeling quite exhausted though....
I am so excited about seeing all my friends and family especially my mum and two sisters, and my best friend is flying up from Melbourne. It's so great they are all coming and being so supportive :) I spoke to one of my sister's yesterday and she is bringing my two nieces ( 3 and 7) too!
O.K better have some coffee now.....

Well it's getting very close to the show and I am still madly working on stuff!!!
I finished the 10 small paintings and they all have their hooks etc on the back ready to hang, I am half way through the two large toys and I am still painting number 10 painting. I did however finish a huge drawing which will now be in the show, funny it was a last minute addition and it's probably my favourite piece!
Great news also (still can not believe it) I got a call from the gallery yesterday and a lovely woman Polly bought the above painting from the invite, having only seen it printed! I was so surprised and excited!! So I have sold one even before the opening YA! I also sold another print on etsy to a nice Australian gal my first local sale on etsy!
Well I better get painting!

OOOHHH its so cold, my mum even got snow around her house, first time in 20 years! I had on jumper, jacket, beanie and scarf on and I was still cold waiting for the bus... suddenly 39 c in Vietnam seems like a faint memory....
Even though it was cold and rainy I still went to the artshop on the way home aaaahh the artshop what a lovely place all those fresh new pencils and paints. I could spend hours just looking at them all. I brought some much needed white paint and a few different pencils to 'try out' YA..........$ 43 later ouch!! At least I am not in too much debt from my holiday so I do not feel too guilty.

Hi it's sunday arvo and the small paintings are all most done and I am trying to remain calm, but my whole family is coming to the show and my partners mum is flying up from Melbourne so sweet but I am feeling a little bit of pressure.....
I have to go back to work tomorrow URGH I do not want to go back, I think I will start to look for another job I think after the exhibition. I have included some pics of my boots and cute green mary janes I got in Vietnam hhmmmmm bargain shoes my favourite thing, also the fab red leather bag I got copied from a magazine I luckily had brought for the plane trip!!
I love travelling but I have to admit sleeping back in your own bed is bliss...

hi there, here is the invite for the show ;) I have painted all day with the exception of a trip to woolworths for some much needed groceries!! Which was a good excuse to wear my new boots I had made in Vietnam- picture dark brown knee high flats. It is now 1am and I am fading fast.. I am feeling a little anxious about the exhibition feeling a bit of artistic anxiety I am sure any artistic kids out there know that feeling the one that goes what am I doing all my work is crap.... I know these feeling get me from time to time I just try and shake them off usually by losing hours on the net lusting after shoes and art etc anyway another big day tomorrow....... ciao

WOW Vietnam was amazing!! So many people, sights and sounds it's hard to describe, we visited the south, middle and north of the country. It was soooooo hot, around 37 c most days which made it a little hard at times, but there were not so many tourists which was great.
Vietnam a very easy country to get around and the internal flights are quite cheap making it possible to see more of the country in a short holiday. We also got a three hr train ride along the coast, in the middle between Denang and Hue, which was really beautiful.
I tried to not think about all the stuff had to still do for the exhibition and there was so much to see and do I mostly forgot about everything at home which was a great escape, and I got over my obsessive etsy addiction too. We only arrived back this morning so I am trying to have a quite night before I get busy again tomorrow. I just sent the invite artwork to the printers though, so that's something off my list!!!!
O.K , I am off to watch Scrubs which we bought the whole 5 seasons on dodgy DVD.

Chaos central............ Well it's Sat. morning and I have been up since 7am ( usually it's 9/10am) trying to get as much done for the exhibition before I need to pack and get organised to go Vietnam...... I am surrounded by work in various stages of completion. I have sketched the ideas for the small paintings, and have papered and painted the wood, but they still need sanding and need a second coat of paint. I have almost finished the 8th and 9th of the large paintings, but still need to paint all the backs and attached hanging stuff , god I am going to busy the 2 weeks when I get back!! Oh and I also have to make 2 super large stuffed tamabtoys for the gallery windows. At least I have finished designing the invite...

O.K so, its nearly 12pm and it's a Monday night and I really need to go to bed.
Today after work I went to a friend's place to pick up some wood for some mini paintings for the exhibition, then painted for 3 hrs, made dinner and now I am shopping on Etsy, and I should be fast asleep !
But I just found an artist I have like for a while has an etsy shop and I bought this awesome drawing, this is my second original piece of art I have ever bought. Check out it out under sold Items It's by Ryan Myer I love it!!

Well I am making some progress with the paintings but it's still slow and steady... I got a great compliment today though, the lovely guy who owns Image Science which prints my work, bought some of my work to print onto large canvases' for his soon to be born daughters room. Wow, I was soooo happy about that!!!
Now I have been trying to help with the housework which is at the moment a very low priority for me but with the painting and the etsying and general obsessing I have not done too much this weekend. I will have to do some dishes tonight as they are balancing and tittering on the counters...I have posted this picture of a little original I did the other night. I am doing some like this for the exhibition to go with the larger paintings, if I get the time when I get back from Vietnam!
I bought this very cool etsy cheepcheep ring even though I should be saving, oops..

So it's been a couple of days since I last blogged, but I had a shitty day at work including tears :( and its taken me a couple of days to get over it, but I am painting like a madwomen as I realize I do not have enough time to get it all done before i go to Vietnam for our holiday on the 29th !
I am going to have to pull some all nighter hahah which anyone who knows me, knows that I freak out at about 1.30 and become like a whingey 5 year old :)
I have been posting a bit on the forums on Etsy and I am finding that the etsy community are really a great bunch of supportive people, ya.
Must go paint bye....

So some of you may have realised that I am a day ahead cos this is USA blogger thingy so today is actually Tuesday and I have just got home from work, and well it was long and pretty crappy but I tend to think about ideas and my exhibition while I work :) I was going to paint some more tonight but I am feeling pretty stuffed. I did get a lovely surprise in the mail today, some super cute buttons/pins from Sakura Kitty Creative they are very cute. I love getting things in the post last week I got some postcard from Apak (from etsy) 'the happy hermit series' Which are just adorable!!! hmm and I also splurged on a Matte Stephens print ' suburban bear monster' which is very cool, not sure where it's going to go though, our 2 bedroom flat is completely stuffed with things, my boyfriend has a book obsession and I have art stuff and fabric in every nook , behind every door and under the bed etc it really is way too small for two such "stuff " people .
I have so much stuff I try and clear out things but they just build up again so fast! Oh yeah I forgot to share with a pic of part of the toy order I sent off last week. I sell the toys in a gallery in Canberra called "the hive" which is an amazing place full of arty things and at M.A.D. in Sydney. I do not sell these on etsy because I do not want to undersell the stores and there are heaps of really cute toys on etsy which all seem to be to very well priced and I can not really price mine any lower. Convo me though if you really keen. Anyway that's all for now, Ciao

O.K It's now Sunday and I have been doing lots of painting, so I feel a little less stressed :) I have finished 4, only 6 to do!!! crap now I feel a bit stressed again, oh well gotta keep positive...

Hi a very clever girl said somewhere that etsy plus blog equals more connection with your customers... so here I am with my own lil blog...
I put my etsy shop last weekend and I have been thinking about doing it for months but I guess its one of those things, when you actually take the risk to put your art out there you can no longer 'think about it' and the reality that they may not sell like hot cakes becomes real..
Anyway after posting 10 prints for sale I sold two in the first 2 days YA I got all excited and jumped around alot but well that was 5 days ago and I have not sold anymore yet... I now have 15 prints up for sale.. I am trying not to be etsy obsessive and checking every hour but its hard not to... In the mean time I have an exhibition on in about 8 weeks which I am way behind on and I am going with my better half to Vietnam in three weeks ...ECK gotta stop looking at etsy, reading peoples blogs and get my ass into gear..
